Just another crappy, self-righteous, arrogant blog

So there's been a push for me to get a "personal" blog where I could, supposedly, write about all the "interesting" things in my day-to-day life.

I can promise the posts will be personal and about my day-to-day life but I assure you there will be nothing interesting about them.

If you want interesting head on over to alanharris.tumblr.com

So, craziest thing in the world happened.

I decided to add a few more blogs to my follow role because a lot of the ones I previously followed didn’t update very often. In order to add more Canadian content to my dashboard, as per CRTC regulations, I went to the Tumblr Map and chose Toronto. I clicked on a dot which opened a window of about 40-50 Tumblr blogs. I picked three.

Out of those three was this blog here.

She’s quite interesting so I decided to strike up a conversation via email with her. Through the course of conversation I learn that she lived in North Sydney, Nova Scotia before coming to Toronto for school. North Sydney is where my brother-in-law and sister moved to after they got married; his family has lived there their whole lives. Quite the coincidence. She asked what their last name was because North Sydney is quite the small place. It turns out she knew a Tait (their last name, sorry). The Tait she knows of owned a convenience store located on the fairgrounds. Huh, my brother-in-law’s dad owned a convenience store on the fairgrounds… She said that the Tait she knew would hand out free ice cream on grading day. My brother-in-law’s dad would hand out free ice cream on grading day if you took in your report card and had good marks.

As you have probably figured out by now, the Tait she knew is my brother-in-law’s dad. I’m not sure what the odds are of this happening but it freaked me out. Of all the blogs in Toronto I just happened to follow her’s, out of all the places she could have been from she was from the same place my sister and brother-in-law lived and she knows of my brother-in-law’s dad.

*Please note I have not reread this to correct grammar…
